Unprepared Adventurer(GMTK Jam)
Controls:
NOTE: Due to a bug in the web version when the game loads you will have to click it so you can move.
WASD: Move character.
O: Pick up item.
P: Use item.
Gameplay:
Every enemy has it's weaknesses so choose carefully which item you use to fight them
Sword: press the action button for a slash attack of short range
Magic staff: press the action button to summon a fireball
Shield: Hold the action button to defend yourself from attacks and return the damage to your enemy
About the Jam:
Unprepared Adventurer is my submission to the Game Maker's Toolkit 2019 Game Jam.
The theme was: 'Only one', So I decided to go with 'Only one Item Slot'.

I beat your game. I enjoyed it a lot, it's a simple concept but quite fun ^.^
The only problem I found was that the range of the enemies attacks (aside from the wizard) felt too long. For instance, the skeletons sword would hit me a distances that felt far enough away to be safe.
Regardless, since the levels load instantly and only fifteen seconds of progress are lost on death, I still beat the game anyway ^.^
Hey thanks for checking it out! Since I made the levels take place in only one room to make sure you can see everything in one look maybe the attacks should be smaller to compensate for the small space, didn't think about that, I'll try to update it when I can contact my testers.
